HANDY Photography Tip - Aperture.

Aperture is key in getting them professional looking photographs. You know, the types where the subject is in focus and the background is nice and blurry, you know what I mean :)

So, If you are after a photograph where the background is blurred, and your subject is clear you will need the largest aperture possible. Put your camera on aperture priority and select the lowest aperture number you camera will allow. Normally about F5.6 on lower end cameras. Your shutter speed should select itself automatically.

Here is an example.

If you want everything to be sharp and clear you will need to set a smaller aperture (bigger F Stop)

REMEMBER, THE SMALLER THE NUMBER, THE BIGGER THE APERTURE
