Nikon D3000 Review

Nikon D300 Review.
Ever since buying my first camera back in 2007 I've always been a Nikon fanboy. I thought i'd share with you some of my experiences with the Nikon D3000.
I’ll try to keep it brief and try not to bore you too much.
Firstly - whats in the box?
Upon opening the box you will find inside:
1 x Nikon D3000 body
1 x NIKKOR 18-55mm AF lens
1 x Nikon Strap
Various Instruction manuals, CD’s and connection cables.
The body defiantly feels like a solid camera before even switching it on, which is NOT something that can be said for canons low end cameras, which feel cheap and plasticy, so thats already a plus one for nikon.
Features-wise, I was very happy with the Nikon it has all the normal modes - Auto - Manual - shutter speed priority - Aperture priority - Sports - Macro - Baby - No flash - Night mode. However it also includes Nikons exclusive “Guide” mode. Which to the amateur photographer would be very useful.
The guide has a very well laid out user interface in which you tell the camera exactly what you intend to take a photograph of, for example a cathedral, outside, at night. Or a baby, close up, in bright sunlight. This gives the camera a much better idea of how it needs to be set than just leaving it on “Auto” and produces very professional results.
This is definitely another +1 for Nikon.
The camera is definitely everything you expect from an entry level camera and more. It feels solid to hold, and by adding a simple battery grip, it can be a very comfortable camera to shoot with.
I’d say the Nikon D3000 is the best camera out there in it’s [rice range, however would recommend buying a few extra lenses, as the 18-55,, just can’t cut it in every situation.
Overall camera rating - 8/10
